Beware more traffic restrictions along I 24 this weekend

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Expect more traffic issues this weekend along the I-24 project in Chattanooga.

TDOT says crews are planning on reducing west bound traffic (towards Nashville) to just two lanes.

The work will happen from Friday night to Tuesday morning if the weather cooperates.

When the three lanes reopen on Tuesday, they will have a new configuration.

The East bound lanes will not be affected.

TDOT officials urge everyone to just avoid the interstate this weekend, particularly the stretch between Spring Creek and Germantown roads.
