Bicyclist hit by 2 trucks just before midnight in Ooltewah

OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (WDEF) — A bicyclist was sent to the hospital after being struck by two trucks in Ooltewah on Monday, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).

Deputies arrived at the scene of the incident at around 11:50 p.m. on Monday, June 17.

They said a bicyclist was hit by two Ford F-150s on the 7700 block of Mahan Gap Road in Ooltewah.

According to the sheriff’s office, the bicyclist was going eastbound on Mahan Gap Road and straddling the center line. At that point, a Ford traveling westbound hit the bicyclist and knocked them into the eastbound lane.

A second Ford, which was in the eastbound lane, then struck the bicyclist as well.

First responders took the bicyclist to the hospital for treatment.

Their condition is unknown at this time.

The HCSO Traffic Unit is investigating the incident.
