Bike Transit System Sets New Ridership Mark

Chattanooga (WDEF) – National Bike Month proved the charm for Chattanooga’s Bicycle Transit System.

The rent-a-bike program logged 7,709 trips in May.

That made it the system’s busiest month since launching in July of 2012.

Ridership spiked on May 25th, during the Volkswagen USA Cycling Professional Road Race.

Bike Chattanooga also completed a software upgrade in May that makes it quicker to rent a bike at the 33 kiosks around town.
