Biloxi Scores Late Run to Beat the Lookouts 3-2

Chattanooga Lookouts starting pitcher Greg Peavey pitched well, but the Biloxi Shuckers broke a two-run tie in the eighth inning to prevail over the Lookouts in front of 5,289 fans on Military Appreciation Night at AT&T Field.

Before getting in a groove, where he retired nine out of 11 batters, the righty allowed two early runs on a Nathan Orf two-run single.  Chattanooga found themselves down two until the fifth inning when Jorge Polanco knocked home Carlos Paulino and Byron Buxton to knot the game up at two.

Peavey left the game after the sixth inning and recorded his fourth quality start of the year.  In the month of May, Peavey is now 3-0 with a 4.19 ERA in 34.1 innings pitched.

After the Shuckers scored in the top of the eighth inning the Lookouts could not muster any more offense and the team dropped their second game of the series.

Saturday, the team will set out to even the series at two games a piece with RHP DJ Baxendale (3-0, 2.47) on the mound.  Baxendale has the sixth lowest ERA in the league and will face off against RHP Hiram Burgos (1-0, 3.97).
