Birchwood burglary arrest

They were called Tuesday morning to a burglary in progress call on Pierce Drive.

Witnesses told them they saw Kelvin Cranfield of Pierce Road entering the garage and leaving with a gas can and weed-eater.

Deputies went to Cranfield’s house and arrested him, but they did not find the stolen property.

Cranfield also had an outstanding warrant for vandalism.

Deputies continue to investigate.
