Biscuits Blake Snell Continues Scoreless Innings Streak in Montgomery’s 4-2 Win Over Lookouts
The Chattanooga Lookouts (23-15) scored two runs in the seventh inning, but could not muster any more offense as they dropped the third game of the series to the Montgomery Biscuits (17-21), 4-2.
Montgomery scored the first run of the game on a Pat Leonard inside-the-park home run in the second inning. They then added more runs in the fourth on a Justin O’Conner two-run double off of Lookouts starting pitcher Jose Berrios (L, 4-2). Berrios finished the day allowing three runs in five innings, while striking out five batters. His five Ks vaulted him back into the Southern League lead with 58.
Down three runs the Lookouts offense faltered against lefty Blake Snell (W, 3-0). Snell threw six shutout innings to extend his scoreless streak to 49 innings this season.
Chattanooga was able to get on the board in the seventh inning on a Max Kepler two-run home run, his first of the year.
Tomorrow, Greg Peavey will try and get the Lookouts back into the win column when he takes on Jared Mortensen at 7:15 p.m.
