Blood Assurance gives back to our veterans through a blood drive

Blood Assurance Media Coordinator, Brooke Katz, joins News 12’s Chip Chapman to discuss the Veteran’s Day Blood Drive.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Help save lives in honor of Veteran’s Day by donating blood to Blood Assurance.

For every blood donation on November 11, Blood Assurance will donate $5 to the Special Operations Patriot Fund which helps military veterans and their family members who have been hurt while on duty.

It is always encouraged to donate blood, as only 3% of eligible people donate. As Brooke Katz reminds everyone, “You never know when it is going to be you and your family. And you want that blood to be there when you need it. There is only one way to get it.”

Often the nation experiences blood or platelet shortages, so consider donating blood today and regularly.

To donate blood and to take part in saving lives, visit the Blood Assurance website to find your nearest location. Appointments are not necessary, but they are encouraged.
