Board member arrested for false reports causing Grundy schools lockdown

GRUNDY COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Grundy County school board member Kasey Anderson has been arrested for false reports after a text message she initiated caused the entire school system to go on a soft lock down Monday morning.

The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office is not releasing any other information regarding this incident at this time.

Kasey Anderson was arrested back in June where she previously faced charges of false reports/statements.

These were in addition to charges of resisting arrest, public intoxication, indecent exposure, disorderly conduct, and coercion of a witness after deputies were called for a domestic situation.

The arrest report filed in June states:

“On 06-27-2017 myself and Deputy T.J. Bean were dispatched to a domestic situation at 1687 S.R. 50 in Pelham. Upon arrival, Deputy Bean saw a female from S.R. 50, bent down in the front yard. When we pulled in the driveway I noticed the female subject was urinating in view of the State Highway and the public. When asked what she was doing she yelled, “I’m peeing!” The female then pulled up her pants and underwear and walked to us, she was very unsteady on her feet. There was a strong odor of alcohol on her person.”

GRUNDY COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, all Grundy County Schools were placed on lockdown this morning due to a threat, but it was determined everything was safe.

The Grundy County Sheriff says as a precaution all schools in the district were placed on soft lockdown for approximately an hour and a half due to a rumor a gun had been brought to school.

That lock down was ended after deputies decided there was no danger, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
