Bob Doak to retire from Convention and Visitors Bureau

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Tourism in Hamilton County will generate more than 1 billion dollars for the second year in a row.

But the man helping to lead that charge here locally is ready to step down from his job.

Bob Doak has spent the last 15 years as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Chattanooga Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Doak just announced he plans to retire in February.

“I’ve enjoyed every single day, and I’ve enjoyed watching this community grow. And I’m very excited to sit back, and be a great fan of Chattanooga, and watch this city proceed to the next level.”

Doak says after retiring, he’ll spend time at Church with his wife, going to rock concerts, and being Chattanooga’s number one fan.
