Bradley Central Prepares For New Super 32 Division This Fall

Cleveland, TN-(WDEF) It’s a brand new league for Bradley Central this fall called the Super 32.

And the Bears understand they’ll need to be close to super to compete in this new classification.

Bradley Central will tangle with all the big boy schools in the new super 32 class this fall. The Bears reaction. Bring it on.
Said linebacker Colby Alford,"It is greater competition, but that’s what we like. We want to play the best teams in the state, and we want to be part of that group. We think we can hang with them."
Said head coach Damon Floyd,"We’ve gotten a lot of publicity for it being a negative as far as our travel, and we will travel a lot. We look at the positive. It’s the top level of high school football in the state of Tennessee, and we get to play in some great venues. There’s going to be some great opponents, so we’re excited about it."
Joining the Super 32 has changed Coach Floyd’s philosophy.
"Now being in the Super 32, we know we’re going to have to build depth, so we are two-platooning. We don’t have any one player going both ways. Hopefully in the long run that will help us out."
Because there are just 32 teams total across the state in the new Super 6-A classification, everybody makes the playoffs.
Said Floyd,"Well it is a good feeling knowing before you start the season that you are going to get a chance to play in the post-season. We’ve been in the playoffs the last five years, so that’s kind of what’s expected around here."
Floyd expects solid play from quarterback Cole Copeland. Last year as a sophomore, Copeland threw for over 23-hundred yards and ran for 900-yards.
Said Copeland,"I’ve got some confidence coming off last season. Just try to roll off that. Make my right reads. Do what I’m coached to do."
Could take the Bears offensive line some time to roll with confidence.
Said Floyd,"Our offensive line has really got to step up. We lost all five of those from last year. We have guys in place that can get it done. They just need more experience."
