Bradley County Commission honors WNBA player Rhyne Howard

CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Bradley County Commission voted today to honor a local role model.

The item discussed today would name a portion of South Lee Highway after Rhyne Howard.

Howard attended Bradley-Central High School and graduated in 2018. Her athletic prowess was apparent at the time, but since then she has built a promising young career.

She attended the University of Kentucky and won SEC Player of the Year in 2020 and 2021. She was drafted first overall by the Atlanta Dream in the 2022 draft and went on to win Rookie of the Year and become an All-Star in her first year.

Members of the Commission expressed their support of the item, and it was passed unanimously.
