Man arrested after reports of objects being thrown at windshields

BRADLEY COUNTY — A man has been arrested following several reports of objects being thrown at drivers windshields in the northeast areas of Bradley County and the City of Cleveland.

A joint investigation between the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office and the Cleveland Police Department has led to the arrest of Christopher James on June 30, 2026, in connection with a series of windshield vandalism incidents.

According to the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, beginning in May 2026, both agencies began receiving reports of vehicles being damaged by objects thrown at their windshields while traveling in the northeast portion of the county and city.

Due to the similarity of the incidents, detectives from both agencies initiated a coordinated investigation.

Detectives eventually identified Christopher James as the suspect and determined his vehicle matched descriptions provided by victims.

They say on June 30, 2026, James was taken into custody on Michigan Avenue Road while operating the vehicle identified in the reported incidents.

James has been charged with multiple counts of Felony Reckless Endangerment and Felony Vandalism.

At this time, a total of nine confirmed incidents have been linked to the investigation.
