Bradley County D.A.R.E. graduation features special moment

CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF) – A special moment occurred at the D.A.R.E. graduation ceremony at North Lee Elementary School.

Bradley County Sheriff Eric Watson said the “Best Essay” award winner was reunited with a first responder who tried to save her father’s life.

Allie Maples won the “Best Essay” award for her class.

Earlier this year, Maples experienced the tragic loss of her father.

Emergency personnel responded to her residence due to a medical emergency that involved her father.

Trooper Tudors with the Tennessee Highway Patrol was part of the emergency response, and provided comfort to Allie for the duration of that traumatic event.

During the ceremony, Trooper Tudors awarded the “Best Essay” medal to Allie Maples.

He has kept in touch with Maples and her mother since the tragic event occurred.
