Bradley County Sheriff’s Office unveils new Public Safety Unit
Cleveland, TN (WDEF) – The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office just kicked off a new program to help keep residents safe.
13 deputies will make up the specialized unit.
They all have extensive training in areas like drug interdiction, marine safety, traffic enforcement, and crime prevention.
The public safety unit will work in addition to the patrol division, especially in problem areas in Bradley County.
Sheriff Eric Watson explained, "The main intention of this public safety unit it to keep our community safe, and we will do our job and keep our community safe. If you speed and recklessly drive, you’ll be taken to jail and wrote a ticket and you’ll pay the consequences. That’s the mission of this unit."
Sheriff Watson said some of the resources currently used by sheriff’s deputies will now be used by the public safety unit to maximize effectiveness.
