Bradley County student to compete in World Kayak Championship

BRADLEY COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Bradley County Schools announced that a student at Walker Valley High School will represent the United States in the World Kayak Championship.

Bennett George is a junior at Walker Valley. He was selected to perform in Poland this upcoming August.

Bradley County Schools also said Bennett has been a “standout athlete” for years kayaking.

The Bradley County Commission and Mayor Gary Davis declared May 1 to be “Bennett George Day” to congratulate him.

“Bennett is an outstanding athlete and an exemplary representative of our community,” said Mayor Davis. “We are proud to support him and celebrate his accomplishments as he prepares to compete in the World Kayak Championship. We wish him all the best and know that he will make Bradley County proud.”
