Patrol Deputy Stops Couple in the Act of Burglarizing Warehouse Unit

Proactive work by a patrol deputy landed a couple in jail after they were caught in the act of burglarizing a mini warehouse unit in the 2800 block of Waterlevel Highway.

As the deputy checked the business around 11 p.m. Wednesday he observed a van backed up to one of the units. Seeing the patrol car the couple attempted to leave. A male passenger got out of the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended and identified as Edward Allen Pitcock, 43, of Spearfish Lane.

The female driver was also placed into custody. She is Rhonda Pitcock, 41, of 15th Street.

The suspects had placed in the van a toolbox containing both power and hand tools and a battery charger. They were later identified by the owner as property that was stored in the unit.

All of the items were recovered and have a value in excess of $12,000

Both are charged with burglary and theft over $10,000 with bonds of $35,000 each.
