Bradley Republican Party Upset with Their County Leaders Over Tax Hike
But now party leaders are taking shots at the people they helped get elected.
Our media partner, The Cleveland Daily Banner, reports the issue is a failed tax hike plan for the county.
The failed 10 cent property tax hike could surface again at Monday night’s Commission meeting.
It got seven votes last time.
Now the paper reports that the Executive Committee of the party has released a statement to head off the tax hike.
Bradley County Republican chairman Adam Lewis says “After last fall’s election we were very proud of the fact that 100 percent of the commissioners were now Republicans. The party was very active in a number of campaigns to help get self-proclaimed fiscal conservatives elected” .
“I am certainly disappointed that less than a year later the discussion of a tax increase has built considerable support among the Republican commission.”
