Brainerd Hills house fire claims the lives of six cats

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) —  Chattanooga firefighters (CFD) were called to a two alarm house fire that claimed the lives of at least six cats.

CFD responded to the residence on Benham Drive at 11:58 a.m. October 2, 2024.

Upon arrival, CFD reported the left side of a duplex was 50 percent engulfed in flames on the front, side, and back of the residence.

All humans were able to get out of the house safely and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
