Braves Ozuna arrested for aggravated assault and ‘strangulation’

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. (WDEF) — Atlanta Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna was arrested today for aggravated assault and domestic violence. The Sandy Springs Police Department booked Ozuna on two charges, one including strangulation.

Ozuna is still on the injured list after injuring two fingers on his left hand during Wednesday’s game in Boston — meaning he did not travel with the team to New York.

A photo circulating Twitter shows Ozuna’s left arm in a cast, while being arrested.

The Braves released a statement in the middle of tonight’s game saying, the organization fully supports the league’s stance on domestic violence — and until the investigation is completed there will be no other comment.
