BREAKING: Gatlinburg Police Detective indicted in Ooltewah High Basketball rape scandal.

Gatlinburg Police Detective Rodney Burns has been indicted on two counts of Aggravated Perjury in Ooltewah High Basketball rape scandal.

The Hamilton County Grand Jury recently returned those indictments, stemming from testimony given during a preliminary hearing in February for the three adults accused of failing to report child sexual abuse.

The District Attorney’s Office says Aggravated Perjury is a Class D Felony and carries a sentence of 2 to 4 years behind bars.  General Neal Pinkston says his office will not release any further information and he’s asked the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office to refrain from public comment.
