“Breathe Easy” with a lung cancer screening from CHI Memorial

News 12’s Chip Chapman, Dr. Rob Headrick, and Cathy Fiacco discuss Lung Cancer Awareness month and the importance of getting yearly lung screenings.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – November is Lung Cancer Awareness month and CHI Memorial is making it easier to “breathe easy” by having a lung screening mobile unit.

Every year, the Breath Easy coach travels to a high school to help bring awareness of the deadly disease. This year, it will be stopping at Girls Preparatory School in Chattanooga in honor of an alum that passed from lung cancer.

Dr. Headrick reminds everyone that the disease is not limited to just smokers. People with a family history of cancer can also be diagnosed with lung cancer. He spreads the importance and ease of getting a yearly lung cancer screening.

Getting a screening is relatively quick and easy. Patients can “breath easy” and receive screening results within the same day or as quickly as possible.

To find out where the Breath Easy mobile unit will be or to schedule a lung cancer screening, visit the CHI Memorial website for more information.
