Brush fire burns more than 20 acres

LAFAYETTE, Ga. (WDEF) — Several properties are burning tonight in Lafayette, Georgia.

A brush fire started this afternoon and burned over 20 acres on West Reed Road.

No houses were damaged and no one was injured.

Authorities say the fire was possibly started by an illegal burn.

The fire was spotted by a forestry helicopter that was flying over the area.

Georgia Forestry is investigating the incident.
