Burning Bush Baptist Church Gives Back To North Georgia Community

RINGGOLD, GA, (WDEF)-Caroline Chastain’s roof is falling apart. Her son had to put a tarp over it but the leaks kept coming.

"We got some real bad places in there I am just so proud of these people from Burning Bush for coming".

Burning Bush Baptist drew up a shortlist of veteran’s families that need help this summer calling the program "Project One:27".

Hunter Abbott, Teen Volunteer,"I heard they are going to roof this house because I have some veteran’s in my families and i really appreciate them".

This is one of five locations across North Georgia with more than 40 volunteers of all ages taking part.

Tommy Head, Burning Bush Baptist Church,"Two roofs, we are doing this one and another one off Cloud Springs Road, we are doing two wheelchair ramps and we are working on a trailer".

In previous years volunteers would travel away from North Georgia to help but this year the church felt they had a calling in their own community.

"So in James 1:27 when it talks about working for the widows and the children and that is what we are doing this week just trying to share God’s love."

Church members feel "Project One:27" can grow to over 50 members next year.

Burning Bush Baptist also sending members on mission trips to central and South America.
