Cabela’s officially opens in Fort Oglethorpe
Nate Borowski, Cabela’s Spokesperson said, "We have had more than 1-hundred customers camp out over night." The line pf customers stretched from the front doors, all the way to the back of the building and into the parking lot. Laura Holder from Soddy Daisy showed up early Sunday and set her chair up first in line. Laura Holder, Soddy Daisy resident said, "I’ve been here ever since. I have been crocheting a baby blanket for my future grand baby." The first 5-hundred Cabela’s enthusiasts received gift cards worth up to five hundred dollars. Folks brain stormed about what they were going to buy while they waited in line. Avery, Dalton resident said, "Fishing poles." Michael Pryor, Flinestone resident said, "I don’t have any idea, but I’m going to buy something."
This Cabela’s is the 3rd store that has opened up in Georgia, and was chosen to be in Fort Oglethorpe for a specific reason. Borowski said, "It’s just a great location for the outdoors. People here live the outdoor lifestyle. They live the Cabela’s lifestyle and there are so many great outdoor opportunities where they can hunt, camp, fish, you name it this area has something to offer for your outdoor passion." Representatives say the outdoor store will add a large economic impact to our area. Borowski said, "Well the store itself brought in more than 2-hundred jobs and then of course there is the jobs that were created with construction as well and really Cabela’s offers a destination store. Customers will travel to visit a Cabela’s store."
