Calhoun train collision victims were from Chattanooga

CALHOUN, Tennessee (WDEF) – The victims of that tragic train-car crash Thursday evening in McMinn county were from the Chattanooga area.

The Norfolk Southern train collided with the car near Highway 11 about 5:30.

The victims were identified as 45 Year old Wendy Humphreys and 46 year old Johnny Ashworth..both of Chattanooga.

The third victim was 17 year old Jazzmyne Ashworth of Calhoun, Georgia.

The car slid to the side and ended up on its top, trapping the three victims inside.

There were no crossing arms, but there was a stop sign, according to the Tennessee highway patrol.
