Candidate Steven Foster sentenced to a year in jail for DUI

DALTON, Georgia (WDEF) – Steven Foster, the Democratic candidate for Georgia’s 14th Congressional District seat, has been sentenced to a year in jail, with six months to serve and six months on probation.

DUI candidate for congressFoster was found guilty of DUI last week in Whitfield criminal court.

He was also fined $700 and must complete 40 hours of community service.

Foster, who’s a resident of Dalton, is running against Republican incumbent Tom Graves of Ranger.

Foster was arrested for misdemeanor DUI by the Dalton Police Department on Sept. 23, 2017.

He is a former military physician and surgeon.
