ATLANTA, Ga. (WDEF)-  As early voting begins in Georgia, candidates are beginning to make their final pitches to voters.

Candidates in the Republican primary for the U.S. Senate clashed in a debate held in Atlanta Sunday.

Representatives Buddy Carter and Mike Collins, along former Tennessee football coach Derek Dooley squared off in the debate along with two other candidates.

They are all attempting to unseat Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff, who is running unopposed in the Democratic Primary.

Representative Collins was endorsed by President Donald Trump, who sparred with Representative Carter over ethics as Carter accused Collins of misconduct.

Rep. Carter asked, “If taxpayers can’t trust you to properly steward their money, how can they trust you to be US Senator?”

Rep. Collins responded, “You know Buddy I can tell through your voice that you know how the polling is going out there. This is a total nothing burger. It’s an anonymous complaint that anyone can file.”

Debates will be held Monday afternoon in both the Republican and Democratic gubernatorial primaries.
