CARTA seeks public input on proposed August service changes
CHATTANOOGA, TN — The Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) will host two public meetings on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, to gather community feedback on proposed service changes planned for implementation as part of the August service schedule.
The meetings will be held at the Downtown Public Library and will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Community members may attend either session.
The proposed changes affect:
Route 10’s (East Chattanooga)
Consolidate service into single route
Expand CARTA GO zone to accommodate adjustments
Route 13 (Rossville Boulevard)
Route realignment
Route 14 (Mocs Express, UTC)
Route realignment and frequency adjustment
Downtown/Northshore Express Shuttle
Consolidate service into single route
“We encourage anyone who rides these routes, lives near them, or has an interest in public transportation to attend,” said Charles D. Frazier, CARTA CEO. “Community feedback helps us better understand how proposed changes may affect riders and allows us to make more informed decisions.”
During the meetings, CARTA staff will present information about the proposed service adjustments, explain the reasons for the changes, and answer questions from riders and community members.
Attendees will have the opportunity to provide feedback before the August schedule is finalized.
