CFC Riding Unbeaten Streak This Season
Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) Chattanooga FC has yet to lose a single game this season and are top of the N-I-S-A table. While C-F-C may be in this position, the undefeated streak is not the focus of this team.
Chattanooga FC is yet to lose a game all season, and Coach Rod Underwood says the best eleven still is yet to see the field.I
Said head coach Rod Underwood: “I think that we’ve been banged up from pretty much the full part of the season. We’ve never put our strongest lineup on the field yet.”
Chattanooga FC continued an undefeated season with a three nothing thrashing of La Force. And the team adds that they aren’t thinking about the unbeaten streak.
Said forward Markus Naglestad: “It’s not something we think about too much, but definitely we are, you know, we wanted we’re not stepping on the field, you know, to lose ever.So we hope, you know, to keep that keep that going.
Said Underwood: “I don’t really think about it.We don’t talk about it.We just kind of keep moving forward and trying to get better.I mean, our goal is the end of the season, so these are just steps on the way to the end of the season.
Said Naglestad: “So hopefully we’ll keep doing well.We don’t want to lose games, especially at home.We take pride in winning every game or if we can’t get the win, at least come away with a ties.
Coach Underwood says the team battles asone and has a club first mentality. It’s really the unity of the group. They fight for each other.
Said Underwood: “They fight against each other all week intraining, who’s going to play, but they also are together and that’s really important.Nothing projects or we can feel that anything is bigger than the team.”
News Twelve asks if starting the season so early to face Atlanta United gave the team an edge.Coach Underwood says yes because it allows for more practice time, but no in other ways.
Said Underwood: “We’ve been here five, six months and so we’re, we’re sort of in midseason bodies, the way they feel when other teams are still kind of late early season. And so those things, those things can have an effect too, but hopefully we get through those bumps right of that midseason sort of pains and different little things that happen just because of the wear and tear in the body.
And we come out stronger on the other side.”
