Chad Voytik Looking For Expanded Role in Pitt Offense
PITTSBURGH (AP) – Pittsburgh quarterback Chad Voytik is OK if some get the impression he’s simply a game manager.
The former Cleveland Blue Raider plays alongside stars James Conner and Tyler Boyd, both of whom are on the fast track to the NFL. The undersized Voytik says he understands why his teammates get most of the attention and he’s fine with getting them the ball and getting out of the way.
Yet Voytik also spent the offseason working on becoming a more dynamic player under new offensive coordinator Jim Chaney. He focused on improving his arm strength and accuracy and Chaney says Voytik’s smarts can quickly turn a bad play into a good one.
The Panthers open their first season under new coach Pat Narduzzi on Saturday against Youngstown State.
