More changes to Highway 27 traffic patterns this weekend

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – TDOT workers will be shifting traffic on U-S 27 South in downtown Chattanooga this weekend.

They’ll also be shutting down the entrance ramp on West Main Street for about a year.

People can follow detour signs to Williams Street to get on I-24.

In addition, there will be a different way to access MLK from 27 South.

The changes will happen so work can continue on T-DOT’s U-S 27 reconstruction project.

TDOT Region II spokesperson Jennifer Flynn told us “I know a lot of people have endured this project, but it’s difficult to build a project of this nature and still keep traffic moving and that’s why we ask everyone to just be alert when they go through the job site.”

We’ll have more information on the changes and the project tonight at eleven.
