Charges filed against driver that killed 2, injured 1 at MARTA bus stop
ROSWELL, GA (CBS46) – Charges have been filed against the driver that killed two pedestrians and injured another at a MARTA bus stop in Roswell.
The Roswell Police Department responded to an accident on Ga. Hwy 9 near Woodstock Street on March 17. Curtis Freeman died on the scene. Larsharon Torrell Clark was transported to the hospital where she later died. The third pedestrian, Elfego Solano-Vazquez was transported to the hospital and survived.
The accident investigation revealed the driver, Teresa Rains Fitzsimon swerved to avoid hitting the rear of a MARTA bus, drove onto the sidewalk and struck three people that were preparing to board the bus. The vehicle stopped when it hit a telephone pole.
Fitzsimon has been charged with two counts of homicide by vehicle, driver to use care to avoid a collision, failure to maintain a lane, and improper lane change.
The judge issued a $15,000 bond.
