Chattanooga Attack Softball Team cleans up Red Bank

RED BANK, Tenn. (WDEF) — The City of Red Bank partnered with Green Steps to help clean up the community, bringing together volunteers for a rescheduled MLK Cleanup Day.

Among those who stepped up to serve was the Chattanooga Attack Softball Team, a group of young athletes determined to make a difference.

What was supposed to be a January event turned into a late winter cleanup, but that didn’t stop the team from showing up with smiles and a mission.

They spent the day picking up litter throughout Red Bank, focusing on parks and streets to clear away bottles, wrappers, and other debris.

“It just helps, and it helps people not to throw so much trash in their car or litter,” one player said. “It really helps our community not to look messy.”

The cleanup was more than just a service project.

It was a way to teach responsibility, teamwork, and the importance of giving back.

Coaches encouraged players to see the impact of their efforts firsthand and recognize the role they play in keeping their city clean.

Originally scheduled for January, the event was postponed due to bitter cold temperatures.

But as soon as conditions improved, the team took the opportunity to serve with a smile.

The players hope their work will inspire others to be mindful of littering and take small steps toward keeping Red Bank beautiful.
