Chattanooga-Built Volkswagen Passat TDI Wins Another Award

(WDEF) The Chattanooga-built Volkswagen Passat racks up another award.
Cars.com just awarded the 2015 Volkswagen Passat TDI the Eco-Friendly Car of the year.
The website recognized the Passat for its efficiency and drivability.
One main reason the Passat TDI took home the award was the car’s 44-mile-per-gallon highway mileage.
Tom Smith of Village Volkswagen said, "Everybody’s talking about this one because of the mileage.  A lot of my customers tell me they get almost 50 miles to the gallon on a trip.  You can go get a lot of milk and bread on days like yesterday with that kind of mileage."
The Passat TDI competed against the Chevrolet Volt and Honda Accord Hybrid.
The Chattanooga-built car won this same award from Cars.com in 2012.
