Chattanooga FC Wins NPSL SE Conference Title

The Chattanooga FC got the last laugh on the New Orleans Jesters with a crushing 4-0 win in the NPSL Southeastern Conference title match at Finley Stadium.
Luke Winter, Sias Reyneke, Leo De Smedt, and Luis Trude all tallied goals for Chattanooga in a convincing victory. Greg Hartley continued to be a brick wall in goal with another shutout. Chattanooga ripped through the playoff weekend outscoring their opponents 10-1 in two games.
“We have so many different people that can score,” said CFC head coach Bill Elliott. “I think that we are just so difficult to play against, goals are coming from different people on this team.”
It did not take long for Chattanooga to get on the board. Luke Winter got the scoring going just 12 minutes into the match, thanks to an assist from John Carrier. In the 25th minute, Chattanooga struck again, as Reyenke beat the keeper to give the Chattanhooligans something to cheer about a 2-0 lead at the half.
Controversy struck in the second half. After a vicious midair collision near midfield, Luke Winter was given a red card and tossed from the match. That could mean Winter will miss the FC’s next match in the Regional Semifinals.
In the 67th minute, Chris Oching was pulled down on a clear path to the goal. No penalty was called but the ball ended up on the foot of Leo De Smedt. He crushed it through the net for a 3-0 lead.
The nightcap for the FC came in the 79th minute. After Thibault Charmey’s shot was deflected, Luis Trude lofted a soft hanging shot that landed over the keeper’s head and found the goal to give Chattanooga the final score of the evening.
Next up, the FC will play in the Regional semifinals
