Chattanooga Festivals of Arts and Ideas Hosts The Literary Lounge at Downtown Library
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)At the downtown Chattanooga Library Saturday, the Chattanooga Festivals of Arts and Ideas hosted The Literary Lounge.
It’s an event that celebrates and showcases local Black authors and their contributions to the city. Attendees had a chance to visit authors’ booths, buy their books, and engage with a broad range of literary works.
“When I was young, I read a lot, but it never crossed my mind that I could actually be someone who creates and publishes their own book. That’s one of the main reasons we want young people to understand that not only do we want them to read, but we also want them to write. We want them to meet authors who look like them” said festival director Marsha Davis.
