Chattanooga firefighters battle third blaze of the day
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) Chattanooga firefighters responded to their third house fire of the day this afternoon.
This one happened just before 2PM at 3501 Oak Ridge Drive in Hixson.
Firefighters say this one started in a breaker box outside the home, but spread to the garage and kitchen.
Luckily, they didn’t have the problems they experienced on the earlier fires, and put it out in less than ten minutes.
No one was hurt.
Fire spokesman Bruce Garner says “With so many fire companies responding to fires today, the decision was made to request a Mutual Aid Standby from neighboring fire departments.”
“As a result, the Red Bank Fire Department responded in with Chattanooga to assist Engine 22, Quint 19, Quint 10 and Squad 20 on this fire.”
