Chattanooga firefighters respond to Alton Park mishap heater fire

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) —  Firefighters with the Chattanooga Fire Department (CFD) put out a mishap heater fire in Alton Park.

Crews were dispatched to the 100 block of W 45th Street after receiving a 911 from a resident stating a heater had blown up in their living room.

Upon arrival, crews quickly established a water supply and got a good knockdown on the fire.

A grandmother and baby made it out safely.

According to CFD, no injuries were reported.

Officials stated that gasoline was accidentally used in the heater instead of kerosene.
