Chattanooga firefighters stay up all night battling blazes

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga fire fighters spent the night fighting two different blazes in the wee hours.

At 1:15 AM, they were called to a fire at a vacant house in the 800 block of West 38th Street.

The flames were so intense that firefighters had to hose down the neighbors home to keep it from catching fire.

Investigators believe this fire was intentionally set.

Just a minute later, they got another call to 1123 Cranbrook Drive in Hixson.

A 77 year old woman says her smoke alarm woke her up.

It was a kitchen fire that firefighters put out quickly.

But the woman injured herself getting out of the house and was taken to the hospital.

This fire was ruled accidental due to an electrical malfunction.
