Chattanooga firefighters work to “wash away hunger”

Chattanooga, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Chattanooga Fire Department is holding their Wash Away Hunger event to support their food drive.

This morning at Normal Park Museum Magnate School, students and faculty used chalk to create art and messages about hunger.

Then Chattanooga firefighters used water hoses for the students to “wash away hunger.”

Officials with the Fire Department say Normal Park was great with donating, and this event was a nice way to show their appreciation.

The food drive will go through the 24th and there are collection barrels at all 20 Chattanooga fire stations.

Events will be held at Red bank , C-S-A-S, Hixson, and East Brainerd Elementary next week.
