Chattanooga gunshot victim dies on the way to hospital
According to Chattanooga Police, Peyton Hogan, 21, of Chattanooga was found on the ground at the corner of Frazier Drive and Benham Drive. He was reportedly awake when paramedics arrived.
"The ambulance transported the victim to the hospital; en-route to the hospital, he died from those injuries," said Chattanooga Assistant Police Chief Tracy Arnold.
Several neighbors told News 12 they never heard a gunshot. Also, police confirmed they were never dispatched to a shots-fired call at that location. The question now is where did the shooting take place?
"We know we found the victim here. But we don’t know exactly where the shooting took place," Arnold said.
While part of the investigation centered around the area where Hogan was found on the ground, a bulk of the investigation took part inside a house where a truck that is believed to be owned by Hogan was parked right out front; the same truck that was next to where Hogan was found.
"He does not live here, we do know that much but I think he has an acquaintance or a friend here who lives at this home," Arnold said.
Police have not named a suspect in the case.
"We perhaps have a party that will be a person of interest, but it’s still under investigation," Arnold said.
