Strawberry Festival takes over downtown Chattanooga Market

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Strawberry season is in full swing in the Tennessee Valley.

Several local middle and high school jazz bands entertained a large crowd at the Strawberry Festival at the Chattanooga Market.

In addition to the normal fare at the market, strawberries were the centerpiece as they are in season.

One vendor, Lannie Harte of Daylilies, LLC. says she has sold strawberry jams, jellies, and salsas from her farm in Cleveland at the Market for 22 years.

Harte said, “I think outside of the box. I like to do different things that you don’t tired of and that you can’t find anywhere else. I call my customers “localvores” because they have chosen to eat within a hundred mile radius.”
