Chattanooga Neighborhood Holds Police Lineup

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Boyce Street Neighborhood Association held what they called a police line up today in hopes on building better relationships with the officers who patrol their neighborhood.

They were able to introduce themselves to the officers so that the police will know who they serve in that community.

The residents believe those introductions will help reduce crime in their community because the police will know who is suppose to be there and who aren’t.

Cora Lanier says that this event was long overdue.

“It gives us a chance to look eye to eye with the police in our neighborhood as well as the police from other neighborhoods so that they know who we are, because I am sure that they go into these neighborhoods and they have no idea who’s coming out of what house… do they live in that house or what so this I think helps give them a better feel for the work their doing and know who we are.”

Representative Joanne Favors was also in attendance to show the community that she lives in that they have her support.
