Chattanooga pledges $100,000 to Home Uplift program
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)-The city of Chattanooga has given its largest contribution to a home upgrade program.
The city has contributed $100.000 to the Home Uplift Program, which is in conjunction with TVA and EPB.
The program provides home repairs worth up to ten thousand dollars to residents who qualify, as Home Uplift, to help low-income homeowners reduce their energy costs at no cost to them.
Chattanooga resident Gigi Gross is one of six thousand people across a seven state region to receive upgrades to her home, and says it has been life changing.
“May 7 this year was Christmas for me because I got my new windows, pipes redone. The insulation, they said I just had a little, it looked like it was to the ceiling when they got through and it’s made such a difference. I want other people to know that,” said Gross.
