Chattanooga police arrest man accused of posting sex selfie on Facebook
Karon Williams, 19, of Chattanooga was arrested and charged with one count of photographing without consent.
According to the arrest affidavit, the victim contacted Chattanooga police on June 23 and told them she found a photograph on Facebook of her engaged in a sex act with Williams.
Police believe the image was a screen shot of a cellphone video that Williams secretly recorded while having sex with the woman who filed the complaint.
The woman told police that although she agreed to have sex with Williams, she was not aware that he was recording a video. She also told police she did not want the photographs and video to be produced nor posted onto the internet.
According to police, the explicit image was removed from Facebook. The woman saved a screenshot of the Facebook post as evidence to show investigators.
Williams is now out of jail on a $1,500 bond.
Williams is also no stranger to police. He’s been arrested several times since August of 2014 on charges of theft, burglary, possession of a controlled substance and other minor offenses. But he has only been convicted of theft.
WDEF examined his Facebook page where it was apparent that he has an affinity for taking and posting "interesting" pictures and videos. One of the videos featured an encounter he had with a police officer during a traffic stop.
Williams is now due in court September 3.
