Chattanooga Police arrest William Matthew Harvey for Rumor’s Bar manslaughter

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – One day after a warrant for the arrest of William Matthew Harvey for the crime of manslaughter for the death of Shawn Russell was obtained by Chattanooga Violent Crimes Investigators, Chattanooga Police Fugitive Unit detectives make an arrest.

Harvey was booked into the Hamilton County Jail.

William Matthew Harvey his 27-year-old brother Johnathan Paul Harvey were wanted in connection to the death of 36-year-old Shawn Russell at Rumors Bar on Hixson Pike.

According to the bar manager, Russell and his girlfriend were sitting at a table when another man started yelling obscenities about a clover on Russell’s shirt.

Bar goers say Russell got up, ran for the backdoor, and collapsed before taking his last breath.
