Chattanooga Police car in Brainerd crash


Chattanooga Police now tell us there were two separate wrecks, involving a chase.

The first involved an officer trying to make a traffic stop and the vehicle fled, immediately hitting another vehicle.

The occupants then ran on foot.

The officer pursued on foot.

Then another police officer responding with emergency lights was hit by another vehicles on North Moore Road.

The driver of the other vehicle was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The police officer was not injured.

Police have made one arrest from the foot pursuit.


CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – A Chattanooga police officer has been involved in a crash near Brainerd High School tonight.

It happened around 9:45 PM at 1015 North Moore Road.

That is just across the street from the High School.

Our reporter says that both the squad car and another vehicle hit a pole and a tree.

911 dispatchers said there are injuries, but that has not been officially confirmed at this point.
