Chattanooga Police Investigate Man Shot Early Tuesday Morning in St. Elmo

Chattanooga (WDEF) Chattanooga police search for a suspect following the city’s latest shooting.

Officers responded to a home on St. Elmo Avenue around 2:00am across from St. Elmo Park.

They found 52-year old Thomas Whatley sitting in a chair with a gunshot wound to the stomach.

Whatley described the shooter as a young male, wearing red and white clothing. The suspect reportedly took off in a white vehicle.

Emergency crews transported Whatley to the hospital — where he’s listed in critical condition.
