Chattanooga Police Investigating Separate Shootings, Stabbings

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga police are investigating two separate incidents Sunday afternoon, where people were shot and stabbed.

Shortly after 12 p.m., a 25-year-old woman was taken to CHI Memorial Hospital by private vehicle after she was shot in the leg in the 1300 block of Dodson Avenue.

As standard protocol, the hospital was placed on lockdown for about an hour-and-a-half.

Chattanooga police spokesman Victor Miller says the woman has non-life threatening injuries.

About 30 minutes after she was taken to the hospital, two stabbing victims from a separate incident arrived.

Miller tells News 12 they were stabbed at the City View apartments in the 2700 block of Citico Avenue.

When officers later arrived at the scene, they also found a man had been shot in the stomach.

Both that shooting victim, and one of the stabbing victims have non-life threatening injuries.

The second stabbing victim – a boy – is in critical condition.

Miller says the Citico Avenue stabbings and shooting stem from an ongoing dispute between neighbors.

Investigators are questioning a person of interest in the incident.
