Chattanooga Skillet Curling Competition Returns
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The heat is on, and so is the ice, as the 2025 Chattanooga Skillet Curling Competition returns for another thrilling showdown.
This one-of-a-kind event, blending Southern tradition with icy competition drawing teams and spectators from across the region.
Inspired by the classic winter sport of curling, skillet curling puts a Southern twist on the game, swapping out traditional curling stones for… you guessed it… cast-iron skillets
Melissa Blevins, President of Chattanooga Area Food Bank, told News 12 that “there’s nowhere else in the United States you can see lodge skillets thrown on the ice on an ice-skating rink much less in Tennessee. So, it’s family friendly, it’s free, and it’s dog friendly.”
“All the proceeds of the beer sales go to the food bank. It’s a win for everyone.”
Teams will go head-to-head in a battle of skill and teamwork, all while embracing the lighthearted spirit that makes this event a local favorite.
Whether you’re an experienced competitor or a first-time spectator, expect an exciting mix of competition and good old-fashioned Southern charm.
